Started my first class on Wednesday.  I’m not in the PhD program yet, but I think there is a good chance I’ll get in.  I will mostly be in classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, which means I work from home in the morning.  As far as the class goes, so far so good, the class is an “Introduction to plasma physics”.  It’s a senior level class, so it’s not intended for graduate students, but it looks like a perfect class to start my plasma physics career in at the UW.  Hopefully next quarter I will be taking a graduate CFD class, which is when the real work starts.

Today I got this unexpected text on my iPhone.  Apparently they are recalling the power plug.  Supposedly the metal plug can fall off and stay in the outlet.  The funny part of this whole story is that they are advising everyone to stop using the power plug and get a replacement, the problem is that replacement is not available until October 10th.  I guess you’re screwed if you don’t have a computer to hook up your iPhone to and charge it that way.  Me on the other hand I’ll keep using the power plug, since I never unplug it and I’m not dumb enough to stick my fingers into the outlet when the metal breaks off :).

Went to Raconteurs concert last night with Tom. Opening band, have no clue of the name, was marginal at best. On the other hand Raconteurs were amazingly good. Definitely worth seeing live again. Here’s a couple of crappy cellphone shots.
